SnowBall Cancer Challenge

My Uncle Nick Keller is out trying to break a world record for Cancer. He is raising money and awareness for Cancer Patients. Nick is on day 10 of his challenge. At about 2600 miles of 12200, to break the record for most miles driven on a snowmobile in 60 consecutive days. To read more about it and to see Nick's thoughts and Milage updates I have added a link at the top of my sidebar. Also here atSnowball Cancer Site and click on the home button to see the overview. We wish him all the strength he needs to meet his challenge!

crafty creations #47

Welcome back again. We have opted for a no rules challenge this week. As we are all busy with christmas preps and last minute baking, shopping, and cleaning. I am starting to feel a bit more human after surgery last Friday, so hopefully I will get some blog hopping in this next week. Althought the time is flying by quickly. Well here is my make for this week...

>

A last minute gift for Jason's Kindergarden teacher. She is a gem and is due today with her second child, so we wish her well with the new bundle. The jar says on one side "all i ever needed to know" on the other side "I learned in Kindergarden" . The blue ribbon around the jar is cloth and is tied in the back. I did the top image from my computer word program and covered with laminate so it won't smudge if little hands opened the jar.

Well I am off to get Jake off the bus, and this afternoon to finish my christmas shopping. Yes Krissy is coming with cause I don't think Jason is going to be able to push a cart of groceries and presents to the car, much less through the store. This 15 lbs. restriction is killing me. Oh well I will enjoy the break from chore while it lasts. Have a great Holiday everyone and enjoy all the time with the ones you love! Hugs, Jaime

CCC Challenge #44

Our challenge this week is "lace and distressing" to incorporate these two things into your choosen project.

We have a wonderful prize this week for the lucky winner, which is kindly sponsored by Cardz ' n ' Scrapz two lovely Sugar Nellie stamps.

<

i used the Aspen paper Pack from CTMH for this card. The image is by the lovely Elizabeth Bell for WOJ. (It is my Christmas card image, so be prepared to see it a lot in the next few weeks) I lace I wanted to use is hidding somewhere in my house so I had to use the thin strip of what I would consiter more of a ribbon then a lace. Distressing was done with Outdoor Denim and smooch-- moonlight. Added glitter to base of snowwoman and colored with copics. So make sure to check the challenge sight for more info and to enter for a chance to win. Hugs, Jaime

Our new challenge is a Christmas theme, with bonus points to those using the cracked glass technique on your card layout or project.
You can see a cracked glass tutorial HERE.

Regina Easter from
the Cutting Cafe is our sponsor this week. The winner will get to choose any 3 of her printables from her shop. How generous is she!! The DT was given the Christmas Bulb set to play with .

I used CTMH papers and extra thick embossing powder for the cracked glass effect. I used smooch behind my saying to help it pop (looks better in person). The rest of the DT has some wonderful works for ideas so check out Crafty Creations for all their creations and enter for your chance to win!

Crafty Creations Challenge #42

Metal/Metallic finishes

ideal for all the Christmas card piles we are trying to create!

Claire is sponsoring this weeks challenge and the winner will recieve their choice of any image from

Claire's digi shop - Doodles by Hope Jacare

and also a few goodies that Claire enjoys working with - some charms, a Sakura metallic pen and a few surprises!
To see some of Claire's images just look at the DT cards they all feature an image created by Claire. I made my racecar into a spidey speed machine, as my oldest will be turning 6 in a few weeks! He is all spidey! The backing paper was silver, the brads were also silver (I placed a sticker over the middle one.) I embossed and sanded the silver paper with my cuddlebug folder. Colored image with my new copic and spica pens and glass effected the windsheild and hub caps. Looks sparklier in person. Hugs, Jaime
